What Is the CFIS Certification?

The FDOT Concrete Field Inspector Specification (CFIS) certification confirms knowledge of the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction — specifically Sections 346, 347, 400 and 415, covering concrete materials, structures, and reinforcement. It is a core credential within the CTQP concrete program and is required for several qualifications, including Concrete Field Technician Level 1 and Concrete Field Inspector Level 2.

The CFIS certificate is valid for five years (60 months) from the date the exam is passed. Near the end of that period, requalification is required.
